Accessibility

Building a marketplace that more people can use with confidence.

Buy A Business Ltd is committed to digital inclusion. We want buyers, sellers, brokers, advisers, and visitors to be able to access marketplace information and complete important journeys regardless of disability, device, or assistive technology.

Standards target

Our accessibility aim is WCAG 2.2 AA.

We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make websites more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people using different technologies and access needs.

Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-off certificate. As the platform changes, we will continue reviewing content, design, code, forms, and interactive features.

Current audit status

We are actively addressing identified issues.

An automated accessibility scan dated 5 May 2026 identified issues on the website, including items affecting interactive content, landmarks, general page structure, and lists. We are using those findings as part of an improvement plan.

Automated scans are useful, but they do not replace manual testing with keyboards, screen readers, zoom, reflow, and real user feedback.

What we are improving

Accessibility commitments across the site.

  • Make core journeys usable with a keyboard, including navigation, account access, forms, and marketplace browsing.
  • Use meaningful page structure, headings, landmarks, labels, link text, and alternative text so assistive technologies can interpret the site.
  • Maintain clear colour contrast, readable typography, visible focus states, and layouts that work across desktop and mobile.
  • Test new and changed features against accessibility expectations before they are published where practical.
  • Review automated audit results alongside manual checks, because automated tools cannot identify every accessibility barrier.

Accessibility plan

Audit and prioritise

Review automated scan findings and manual checks, then prioritise barriers that affect navigation, forms, interactive content, landmarks, and reading order.

Fix critical journeys first

Focus first on browsing listings, seller submission, broker contact, account access, enquiry flows, newsletter signup, and legal information.

Build accessible defaults

Improve shared components so future pages inherit better labels, focus treatment, semantic structure, contrast, and error handling.

Retest and monitor

Retest pages after changes, keep an accessibility issue log, and treat accessibility as part of ongoing product maintenance.

Feedback and alternative access

Tell us if something is not accessible.

If you cannot access part of the website or need information in a different format, email us and we will review the issue. We aim to acknowledge accessibility enquiries promptly and provide a practical response where possible.

  • Tell us which page or feature caused difficulty.
  • Describe the problem and the assistive technology, browser, device, or input method you were using if you are comfortable sharing it.
  • Let us know what you were trying to do so we can suggest an alternative route while we investigate.
